  14. modified in order to handle loss of carrier properly.

  17. have to edit the text in the bbs configuration slightly.

  23. Anyway, there seems to be a demand for a general password 
  24. utility, and after hearing that Randy Quick was making one,
  25. I decided to incorporate something similar here.
  26.  
  27. Why? Well, first of all, the userinterface is already there, 
  28. and secondly, having the password in the pager utility will
  29. be very innocent looking. Ie if a user finds something that
  30. says "please enter password:", that's quite likely to bring 
  31. out the hacker in ANYone. So, hide it somewhere... Voice-
  32. pager seemed as good a place as any, but has other benefits
  33. too.  Since it already writes a logfile, you can have it 
  34. note in this (or another log) that someone has entered your 
  35. restricted area.  Also, the logfile will make it extremely
  36. easy to spot any attempts at hacking the password...
  37. Besides, who'd wanna risk hacking the password, if each and 
  38. every failed attempt would page the sysop?!

  40. So, now voicepager will look for a voicepager.cfg file in 
  41. doors/voicepager directory. If it's not there, it will still
  42. be business as usual, but no options available of course.

  44. The first line contains the number of extra functions
  45. then, for each function, follows:
  46.    Comment (not used, put a description here)
  47.         description used in logfile        
  48.    Password
  49.         AccessLevelneeded 
  50.    Logfile (incl path, or blank if no log wanted)
  51.    Command
  52.  
  53. Please be careful that the format is OK, or strange things 
  54. will happen.
  55.  
  56. If command is a number, this password will take a user to the
  57. menu with the same number, subject ot the user having the accesslevel
  58. required. If logfilename is not blank, the log will be noted with 
  59. the usual details. Likewise, if access is denied, the log will show 
  60. this, and you can take appropriate action.

  62. This could be used to fully replace the maxsmenus, and may be handy if
  63. find yourself in need to a shortcut to that menu 12 levels down...

  65. If the command number is negative, ie "-28" this will mean that the 
  66. BBS will issue a menufunction 28 or whatever. (In this case the CLI.)

  68. If the command = 0 then it means view the specified logfile. Again 
  69. subject to having sufficient access authorised.

  72. Security:  The .cfg file is the key obviosly, and if you are
  73. in a position to modify this, you can achieve anything.

  75. However, if you gain access to CLI (uninvited) you should be able 
  76. to think up more exciting things to fool around with 8-)

  78. PS. If your password gets out to undesirables, simply edit your cfg 
  79. file to make that password TWIT them... Should teach people a lesson!
  80. Also, its quite possible to use a system of rotating passwords, that 
  81. gets updated say weekly by a scriptfile...
